Contact lenses are far better today than they were five to ten years ago. With new materials and designs, virtually anybody can wear them. The daily disposable modality is among the more unique types of contact lenses that we fit at Normandy Optical. These lenses are especially great for children, those with seasonal allergies, and those who only wear contacts occasionally (socially, for sports, dance, etc.). Other unique contacts we fit include those approved by the FDA for 30 days of continuous wear, bifocal contact lenses, and contacts designed to help those with dry eye.
Regardless of what brand or type of contact lens you wear (excluding daily disposable), they require proper care to maintain a healthy cornea and reduce your risk of eye infections. Click here to view the Healthy Soft Contact Lens Habits guide from the Association of Optometric Contact Lens Educators (AOCLE) to ensure that you are cleaning and disinfecting your contacts properly.
If you have any questions regarding contacts that you currently wear or are interested in trying them for the first time, Dr. Wojton will be glad to discuss which type or brand may be best for you.
If you are afraid or have any concerns about how to insert and remove contacts, check out this video.
I have been wearing progressive lenses for many years but have never really been satisfied with them. Both my far and near vision was not as crisp as I thought it should be. But since my eyes were examined and glasses were made by two separate optometrists, I thought maybe I was just being too particular. Then, when I was due for a new pair of glasses, I decided to try Normandy Optical. What luck! My vision is now better than it has ever been with glasses; both near and far vision is very crisp. I would highly recommend Normandy Optical to anyone wearing glasses.
